Martin wanted so much to homestead when he came to Canada, he did some etchings over a period of just a couple of years and later watercolours of campsites and farm yards showing the settlement lifestyle.  This Indian woman readies the fire for the hunters who will be returning to their camp and with their deer kill that will provide food and material for clothes.
